Editorial Design/ Print Collateral
Redesign of Dee Zeen (architectural magazine) logo using hand measured and drawing techniques then transferred to computer.
Focus on parametric design as magazine headline to design editorial layout.
Research
I first did some practice for creating grids by laying a peice of velum paper over a Surfer Magazine I have. From there trying to understand what underlying principles the designer had in mind for each spread.

Logo Re-design
I have a very traditional way of creation in terms of an artistic background but I also love geometrics and math. After drawing out a few different options of possible designs for a wordmark I decided on the more geometric one. From there I drew it out on graph paper and did the math to make sure the corners were
the same thickness as the horizontal and vertical lines. Then uploaded a scan of it to
illustrator and vectorized and perfected it.

Editorial Design
First I started with researching what topic I wanted to pick related to the focus of the company.
I decided on parametric design and found an article I liked for the page design. From there
I sketched up a few options of page layouts I thought were interesting and related to the topic. I then
made a grid for those and inserted photos from an array that I grabbed from a royalty free source.
I then inserted the typography and formatted it for the layout.

Final Output
After all the work has been done, it's just time to put it in a mock up and enjoy the end result.
